The hit-and-run happened in the southbound lanes in Chester City around 3:45 p.m. Aug. 6, state police explained.

The trooper was pulled over at the scene of a two-car crash when a passing car struck his driver's side door, police said. He was treated for minor injuries at Riddle Hospital and was later released, they added.

The striking car fled the scene south down I-95, according to troopers.

One woman was taken to Crozer Hospital with "moderate" injuries," though her role in the accident is unclear.
